Overage Billing
Gumlet bandwidth billing and overage charges
Why am I being billed for exceeding bandwidth on the free / paid plan and how can I avoid it?
Gumlet offers various plans, including a free plan designed with specific limitations. Below, we'd like to provide detailed insights into billing occurrences, including plan constraints and steps to avoid them.
Each Gumlet plan includes allocated bandwidth and storage. If you exceed it, you will either be asked to upgrade your plan or charged an overage fee. Please have a look at our pricing page to see the inclusions for each plan and the overage fees.
How does billing work?
Once your streaming exceeds the free plan limit, a provisional invoice is generated to cover the overage charges. This invoice may include details on the extra bandwidth used and the associated cost.
Avoiding bandwidth charges on Free plan?
If you wish to avoid such charges while streaming on Gumlet:
- Monitor your monthly bandwidth usage diligently to ensure it stays within the free plan limits.
- Upgrade to the paid plan, to get additional storage and bandwidth. Upgrading is especially beneficial for users with consistent or high usage.

What happens to an existing overage invoice after upgrading?
If you decide to upgrade to a paid plan before the end of the current billing cycle, any overage invoice generated while on the free plan will be voided. This ensures billing fairness for users transitioning to a paid plan.
Important Notes:
- Ensure you complete the upgrade before the billing cycle ends to avoid paying the overage invoice.
