Video profiles allow you to define video encoding parameters. Once a profile is saved, developer can use
profile_id to specify all encoding parameters in one go while processing a video. It also makes video processing very easy from UI as the user only needs to select correct profile from dropdown.
There is no limit on number of profiles that can be created. A profile can be attached to a collection as default profile so while processing video in a collection, that profile will be automatically applied if no custom profile is specified.
When you create a new profile you can assign it a name which represents the prameters applied. An
ID will be automatically generated by Gumlet when you create new profile. If you make any change to any profile parameter, it's not applied on videos already processed. The new parameters will only apply for videos processed after the profile is changed.
You can visit video profile section on dashboard to view existing profiles or create new one. It should look like this.
REST API documentation for profiles is available in case you need to change the parameters via API. We have covered different sections of a profile and encoding capabilities in pages below.
